Carolyn graduated from Sydney University in 1987. Her intern training was through Prince of Wales Hospital, with placements in Tamworth and Taree. She furthered her experience at Truro City Hospital in the UK and Lingard Sports Medicine Centre before establishing Sport and Spine Physiotherapy in 1993 with Chris Downs.

Carolyn achieved the title of Sports Physiotherapist in 2000 after completing a Masters’ Degree in Sports Physiotherapy at Griffith University.

Carolyn has worked with a large range of sports including 13 years with the Newcastle Netball Association providing ‘on court’ services, as well as working with junior representative teams.

The main areas of her clinical interest include:

• Problems with the cervical spine

• Headaches and Migraines

• Pelvic Instability

• Lateral hip pain

• Pre and post operative management of spinal issues, knees, shoulders and hips

• Pre and post-natal issues

• Diagnostic Ultrasound and clinical skills to diagnose and manage core stability issues.

Assisting clients through all age ranges and types of musculoskeletal injuries and problems is her passion and is what brings her to work each day.

Carolyn continues to broaden and refill her skills through ongoing courses, conferences and self-directed learning.
