An Evidence-Based Exercise and Education Program for Knee and Hip OA
Are you living with hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms? You’re not alone — and there’s a proven, non-surgical way to reduce pain and improve your quality of life.
GLA:D® (Good Life with Arthritis: Denmark) is an internationally recognised education and exercise program designed to help people with hip or knee osteoarthritis (OA) manage their symptoms and move better, longer.
Developed by researchers in Denmark and now available at Sport & Spine Physiotherapy, GLA:D® combines the latest OA research with real-world results to improve joint stability, reduce pain and get you back to the activities you love.
What Does the GLA:D® Program Involve?
· An initial assessment with a physiotherapist to understand your current mobility and tailor the program to your needs
· Two education sessions where you’ll learn about osteoarthritis, joint health, and how exercise helps
· 12 small-group exercise sessions over 6 weeks (twice weekly) using neuromuscular training to improve muscle control, movement patterns and reduce pain
This isn’t just another workout — it’s a structured, supportive program designed to empower you with knowledge and strengthen your joints for daily life.
Who Can Join?
GLA:D® is suitable for anyone with hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms, whether your pain is mild or more advanced.
You may be eligible if:
· You’ve been diagnosed with OA or experience hip/knee joint pain
· You’re not currently managing pain from other major conditions (e.g. tumors, inflammatory arthritis, fibromyalgia)
· You can safely participate in group-based exercise
