Pilates is a series of exercises and stretches designed to tone muscle, promote good posture, correct breathing, train balance and enhance mental concentration. People of all shapes and sizes, regardless of age and fitness level, will benefit from Pilates. It is ideal for addressing musculoskeletal imbalances and for orthopaedic, sports or work injury rehabilitation.
Emma Shinnick, through her dance experience, has been providing Pilates classes for a number of years at our practice. She is an APPI trained Pilates instructor. These classes are small and extremely well supervised by Emma and, have been ideal for many people with spinal problems, injury rehabilitation, or those people wanting to improve their core strength and stability.
Currently the classes are run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5.30 to 7.30pm, and include the use of specific Pilates equipment including the Reformer.
